Winter Rest

February is considered as part of the winter season where the weather is colder, the nights are longer, and the trees look bearer. Winter is a season that provides an external and natural reminder for all of us to take the time to rest so that when spring returns our lives can move at full-speed. During the wintertime I tend to stay indoors, sleep more, and eat more high calorie foods. I think my body is trying to conserve its energy like a hibernating mama bear. As a natural multitasker, like many of us are, I think rest is a very good thing! Resting may seem like a state of being where “nothing” is happening, but while at rest the body has a unique way of recharging its physical and emotional energy.
